Front bumper question

Does anybody know what’s supposed to be in the spot next to the fog lights?

Those are for air guides to cool brakes down.

OK cool I didn’t know that. Thank you. Do they get any plastic inserts like a grill cover or do they just stay completely open?

There are no covers over the guides.
