Hi everyone. New to the forum here. My 2007 LS got a flooded trunk. It blew the 30 amp fuse for the EPB ECU, and threw out an early Christmas celebration on my dash. Initially the car would chime that the parking brake was on. It wasn't. Once I cleaned everything out, changed the fuse and dried out the EPB ecu the warning lights stayed on, but no longer the message that I was driving with the parking brake engaged. And no more audio chiming.
I just got Techstream and the codes I am getting:
C13AD: Open in +B Circuit
C13A8: EPB Actuator malfunction
I tried to clear them with TS, but they remain. Now I have read many times about Linear Valve recalibration (I do not have air suspension though) and ACQUIRE TENSION SENSOR ZERO POINT.
I cannot figure out what Acquire Tension Sensor Zero is even with the service manual. Could someone explain it to me like I am an 8 year old?
If the codes do not clear with Techstream right away, am I safe in assuming the problem is beyond the fuse blowing? Or am I missing the Acquire Tension step which is keeping the codes from clearing?
Finally, in all likelihood, is my EPB ECU damaged even if it doesn't look damaged and cleaned up well with alcohol? It was underwater for a month as the car was parked outside in the rain and unused for that timeframe.

If you're talking about this power supply in the trunk I would guess it bit the big green weiner being under water that long.

So, that module was completely undamaged. That is the main braking system, and no issues. It had some water around it but not flooded. I may be exagerating that it was fully underwater, but the EPB circuit board defo was in some water for some time. It cleaned up perfectly, but I am guessing it may have chewed on that fat green hotdog. I hope it's not the wiring harness itself....
Pre-clean EPB ECU which was the one that got the water boarding treatment.
The picture of the board looks like it's burnt ? Hopefully it's not the actuator cuz it's kinda pricey and the rear sub frame has to come off to replace it. A diagnosis flow chart would be nice to have for those 2 codes, the sensor zero point is just the cable adjustment and I don't think that's your problem.
The epb module part# is 8905050020 if it comes down to swapping used or new parts.

The main fuse blew out and I was thinking it saved the damage to the board, but I am also leaning to the board being out. First impression was this is toast, but it cleaned up so nicely and I saw no burn marks or broken connections. I'll bite the bullet and try a used one from Ebay.
Thanks for that other thread. Good to know the Acquire Tension Point seems to be irrelevant here and wouldn't affect the performance. The parking brake worked perfectly before and I usually keep it on auto. Added costs of a vacation .
