Rear seat heater won’t work
I have 2007 ls460 and rear seat won’t heat. It’s 5 seater with navigation model. Rear windshield button works from front and rear both. But rear heater light won’t come on.
been thru many posts and checked wires, fuses and not able to find fault.
I had removed rear seats and checked all connections that seems good.
can someone please guide me to check the system throughly to find where the fault is.

Even though you checked the fuse, replace it anyhow. Now take a Volt meter or a test light. Start at the heater switch since the light doesn't come on. Check for power on the incoming side and outgoing. Very possible switch is bad. If there is power on both sides of the switch connection it should light up, though it is possible for the switch to work and the little light to be burned out. Once you get the switch working if still no heat, then the heat pad itself is likely the issue. If there is no power to the switch itself, keep tracing backwards til you find where the power stops.

I did explain it as simply as I can the first time. If you can't follow that I am not about to invest three hours making a video to demonstrate it, would be faster to just fix it for you..
Other issue is, you didn't provide full information in your original post. Hard to help when a guy has less than half the pertinent info. The code you are getting is for the rear power set switch, not the heater. If you are getting that and the heater doesn't work too, then there is more going on than someone with your skill set is going to be able to fix. Take it to the dealer or a good auto electric shop, or live with the heater not working. You can end up doing more damage than you fix given how you describe your knowledge level. All the best and Happy New Year.

Thank you kind sir 🙏🏼
Rear seat isn’t actually powered like 4 seat configuration has. My car’s rear seat is fixed in place. Hence I thought it must be the code since I’m not getting electric power in the rear seat. At this point I think I’ll take it to an electrician to trace the problem.

Did you remove the seat back or just the bottom cushion?
The harness for the switches come through the seat back and into the armrest from the rear and there are connectors back there.
If you don't have power seats/seat in the rear your scan tool will probably throw a code because the wiring for it is open, techstream just puts an Asterix beside the function if your car isn't equipped with it.
Better hope it's not the heating elements because I believe they come with the seat.

I had removed the whole seat and checked the connection back there but everything looked tight. And btw that code is now gone for god knows what reason. Rear seats don’t have power. It’s a base model.
