Hey everyone I am in the middle of an interior swap. I have ordered some extra trim pieces for my interior to wrap I have decided I’m going to wrap all of the things from the cd bezel down in a black gunmetal wrap finish. I have got everything out and ready but i would like to get the cup holder lid off to make it easier to wrap but I can’t find anything on any threads on how to remove just the top off the cup holder. It’s on hinges and all of it is plastic and I don’t want to snap anything.

 

Well it turns out with getting a light out if you open the cup holder and look down inside there are 3 clips holding just the wooden trim piece onto the entire cup holder assembly. In the pic you will see 2 because I broke the center one by accident but if anyone ever needs to remove it that’s how it comes off , took a nice long little plastic removal tool to do it or I’m sure a flat head screw driver works but that might snap the little clips easier.

There should be a 3rd clip in the center I broke it off but it’s fine with 2.
