Default 2007 Lexus LS460 Mark Levinson amp replacement/repair

Hi all,

Im looking at a 2007 LS460 with 100k KM (62k miles) for about 11k Canadian (8.2k USD), the main issue being no audio in the car. The guy who owns has tried to get it repaired at no avail and spent about $600 on that. Did he just get ripped off or is his unit toast?

Basically im asking whats my best option and how much should i expect to get it working? Should I try to get it serviced by a more reputable source or should I just order a new one off eBay?

Thanks all! Hoping to join the Lexus club soon!

Can't see without seeing the internals of the amplifier maybe the shop butchered it or perhaps there is some other problem with the stereo. Do you have the Mark Levinson or Pioneer stereo?

Sorry, should have clarified that the car I’m looking at is equipped with the Mark Levinson system. The owner says it’s the amplifier that’s the issue. At this point I’m assuming he’s right. I’m guessing since the first shop couldn’t get the unit fixed it would be worth to replace it

The ML amps are highly failure prone from what I've seen.

I figure that’s the issue… hopefully. No where local to me repairs them so I’d have to take the chance.
