LS430 to LS460, differences between 2016 and 2017
How much adhesive has to be applied to strengthen the body? I've seen plenty of Toyota and Lexus vehicles partially disassembled and have never seen any real obvious areas where this adhesive has been applied with the exception of the floor pan of the vehicles in random strips that look more like undercoating than anything else.
I'm sure there is more somewhere but it would be hard to prove.
The weakness of the 4 body jack points that fold up like a cheap lawn chair make me wonder how much was used in that area where the floor pan meets the rocker panel??
Larger diameter sway bars would've been more effective.

First you're speaking of improved build quality and now it's run flat tires and enform.

Whatever Lexus uses and calls adhesive and wherever they put it they used more of it in the 2016 and 17 LS460's. How much did that improve the cars I can't say but Lexus apparently thought it was an improvement that was worth doing.

At the end of the day though the question is were there changes made to body adhesives for the purpose of improving rigidity between 2015 and 2016 and the answer is yes. Whether you feel those changes have any impact is a different discussion, but unless you have direct evidence that Lexus' statement is untrue, I think we should believe what Lexus says.
