XM Data
I got my hands on an used head unit off LS600 for a small project I got. When I connected it to my car, it had XM stocks and weather working while it is unavailable on my unit. My understanding is that there is a separate XM module somewhere in the car. In my case, the XM unit is the same unit. However, one head unit gets XM data and displays the other one does not. How is it possible?
I manually going through the hard drives but I can't find anything other than LS600 hard has more data on it and it is a SATA drive.

I think HDTraffic replaced XMTraffic beginning ‘13 or ‘14. HD does not require a subscription. Not sure but I don’t believe HD has stock quotes. As far as I know all SiriusXM data requires a subscription.
One might conclude that the unit that receives SiriusXM data has some subscription time remaining, likely from the previous owner. Subscriptions are often purchased for 1 year in advance. I think that if you contact SiriusXM, with the unit's serial number, they will be able to tell you how much time is left on the subscription.
