Default Traffic Information on late models

First post since upgrading from 2008 460 L to 2016 460 L. I was kind of happy to see traffic information included for free, I understand it is received over an FM frequency? It isn't bad, and I'd prefer to not have to look at my cell phone for traffic data.

My issue is that it is very slow to begin. Sometimes I drive for 10 minutes or more before it starts to display. Usually about 2-3 minutes. I hear that the HD traffic can be augmented by Lexus Enform, but I also hear that Lexus Enform is dead due to 3g cell service being abandoned.

Side point (may create another thread later), I absolutely hate the idiotic Exit guidance when you are on a highway. I hear this can be disabled in some Lexus models? I updated my Infotainment software with latest version but still cannot hide this stupid "feature." The idea that we would always want to see information about upcoming exits is really idiotic except for people who are *always* on unfamiliar highways.

Enform is dead due to 3g. No fix is available or planned by Lexus. So no way of updating traffic news. My guess is any FM traffic updates have nothing to do with Lexus. Maybe another member knows more. Newer models that have 4g are the only cars that would have advanced services like Enform. A CarPlay adapter ($600 plus install) will mirror any phone services such as Waze for traffic updates. While you're not the only one who is underwhelmed by Lexus interface and mapping, no point in starting a thread to beat a dead horse. It's been discussed many times here.

@swfla is dead on point!

I installed a Grom CarPlay device in my ‘13 last week & use Waze exclusively, which obviously has real-time traffic info.

That exit guidance can be switched off. When you go for a drive next time click on the icon with 3 lines in the left lower corner of the map
and go in the NAVIGATION OPTIONS / MAP MODE and select MAP ONLY option.

You are so right! I checked that, but not when I was actually driving on the highway. Who would have believed the safety ***** would make a setting you could only change when driving on the freeway!

Thank you
