LEXUS LS 430. P0125 Code. Insufficient Coolant Temperature For Closed Loop Fuel Contr
Hello Guys,
I have a 2003 LS 430. I am getting a check engine light on the Dashboard.
Checked with the scanner found the code P0125. Insufficient Coolant Temperature For Closed Loop Fuel Control.
Replaced the temperature sensor after the thermostat which goes to the engine.
The car rides fine and the temperature on the gauge is normal as well.
What could be the other causes. I don't think the thermostat can be the issue as I had replaced it months back and also my temperature rise is normal.
My only concern is . Is it got to do with the cooling system(Thermostat and temperature sensor) or the O2 sensor because I have seen a post here the code is related to oxygen sensor?
Suggestions: check the coolant level and top up if needed. Use a scan tool to monitor reported engine coolant temperature as you start the car from cold and warm it up. If you get crazy readings your coolant temperature sensor is still bad. Did you get an OEM sensor or some cheap aftermarket one? I think if your were having O2 sensor issues you would have other codes show up.

I would also look for a possible broken wire or disconnected connector for the O2 sensor before I ordered one. Also, that .pdf mentions a second code (91) which is also thrown, and frankly i don't know whether your P0125 code is accompanied by that second code or if there are other diagnostic procedures/repairs that might apply in your precise situation.
