Hi all , I have four codes coming up P1300 , 1310 , 1320 and P1330 .
I know its the ignitor circuit which includes the coils but surely the odds of four coils all going at the same time would be so close to zero we will call it zero ??
Plus it had a set of brand new genuine coils fitted about a year ago .
Is there any common denominator that would cause 1 , 3 , 5 , 7 coils to go down other that the ECU ?
I have a spare ECU and will swap it in but somehow I don't think its the ECU .
Help please .
This points to a wiring issue somewhere between that bank of cylinders and the ecm, or the ecm itself. There are several procedures in the factory service manual to diagnose the issue.
I might add that its not all the time , the car occasionally is very hard to start , but when it does start it runs just fine not missing at all , the ignition that is...not the car ..
Whenever you see a bunch of coils misfiring, it is very often a ground issue. Start with identifying the common ground for these coil wires. This ground wire is located on the left (driver's side on Left hand drive cars) cylinder head, down to the firewall, I believe. You can also inspect the common wiring connector between the coils and the ECU.
I will do just that and thankyou , would have been my first two things to check , I have the ignition wiring diagram and will be checking the plug for any signs of corrosion and then the earth .
