Default Will smart key work after motor swap

If I was to motor swap my car with a different brand motor and eliminate the stock ecu will I still be able to lock and unlock the doors with the smart key? Is there a body module in each door for the smart key or is it all linked to the stock ecu and immobilizer? Thanks for any help

That’s a really good question and something I’ve never thought about. I don’t know the answer but I’d love to hear some input on this.

I mean worst case I can leave the stock ecu hooked up possibly? I am buying stuff for the LR4/T56 swap now going with twin gt45's on a holley dominator. I am buying 17x10 drag rims for the rear, its going to be rowdy lol

Each door has a body ecu so I am assuming that they control the door locking smart key features but I am not 100% certain. I was gonna do smooth door handles like these but have no idea how to get the smart key to work with it.
