Hey guys I have an interesting one here, would love to see if anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction. Added an aftermarket alarm/remote starter recently but noticed something weird afterwards.
Here's the problem, the A/C blows cold at (MAX COLD) but once you take the degree up by 1, lets say to 65.
It will immediately blow hot air (as if it were on max heat) regardless of actual temperature set.
So the only option is MAX COLD, or any other degree that will feel like max heat temperature.
I'm lost at this point because everything that I can trace back has nothing that I know of, in common with the A/C. Every other A/C actuator/function/etc works fine, it's just the temperature.
Both sides or only one side? If only one then it's likely the blend door actuator for that side, if both then it's the air temp sensor thinking it's much colder in the car than it actually is
It might be coincidence but lots of issues have been reported over the years when people add new electronics especially alarms and remote start. I personally would first completely remove the alarm/start system to see if the AC problem is related to that.
