Default A/C Blower Motor Noise

Hi All,

I have noticed that my blower motor makes a slight whirring sound on the lowest speed. Raise the speed and it goes away. Has anyone had to replace their blower motor? Dealer part price on the blower motor is $600.00.
Thank you for your advice.

Tom

It's likely some leaves or some small pine needles that are stuck in there. It's pretty simple to take out and clean.

This is not a part that often fails. As mentioned above, I'd try to clean out any debris and/or live with the slight noise. Good luck.

AC blower motors can make some noise. I replaced it on our LX570 and an older GX460. Condensation can get in the fans and they can rust, leading to the squealing noise (also some insulation material can get in there).

I any case, Discount parts monster sells the motor for $146 and the fan + motor for $425. This was new to me as for the LX it is only sold as one piece and it runs about $150 for the combo.

You do have to remove some trim pieces but with some patience I am sure it is reachable in your passenger footwell.

What is condition of your cabin filter?

Are you using original Toyota P.N. cabin filter or aftermarket type??
