Default Tire size ls430

Hey guys!

I’m looking to buy new tires for the ls, I’m Rolling on stock 18”s which are 7.5” wide and has 245/45 tires as stated in the owners manual as well, but I’ve heard from various people that 245 is not an ideal width for 7.5 rims and that you should go with 235’s instead.

have anyone changed tires from 245 to 235’s on the ls before? I do think that ut swerves a LOT on bad roads, but don’t know if it is beacuse the tires are bad or due to even maybe sidewall flex from to wide tires?

thanks for the help

I have had different size tires in my LS, but never 235 width.

Wider tires will increase the cars tendency to follow imperfections in the roads. Stiffer sidewalls in higher performance low profile tires will also do this same thing which is the reason I never went with a 235 tire.

thanks! Suggest I’ll just stick with 245/45 and hope that new tires will make the car more stable? Or even 245/40’s?

I recently went from stock 17” OEM wheels (7.5) to 18x8 aftermarket. The speed shop I use advised against 245 and recommended 235 width. The ride and steering response is excellent and not seeing any bump or track steer like I sometimes get on my staggered SC (with 235 front and 275 rears).
