Any chance you may get them to resolve the control arm issue as inducement for you to buy? Or, drop price by another $1000 as cost to resolve....?

I find it absolutely hilarious people complain about spending xx$$ for a low mileage LS430. If you don't want to spend the money or want to haggle on a few thousand dollars go buy a Honda civic and don't look at Lexus flagship luxury sedan. If you find a low mileage one owner 04-06 UL it is going to cost and you can't go by blue book that's irrelevant when it is a vehicle sought after or has a following esp for a vehicle that is not produced anymore. Do you think a 94 TT Supra sells for blue book, no!

As the expression goes.....There is an A.. for every seat or There is a cover for every pot. It only takes one person who wants/needs any car badly enough to pay the $$$$ for it. Lexus manufactured plenty of LS430s so we are going to continue to see strong prices paid for exceptional cars.

There is no comparison.... An LS 430 is no 94 Supra twin turbo. And perhaps some people may wish to be frugal and may have other uses for money they can save. Others may wish to throw money out of the window as they drive down the street. To each his own....

Both uppers, I'll see what dialog i get this time cause a few weeks ago the salesman i dwelt with didn't want anything to do with this.
The fact that the car is still there has me cautious.

Upper control arms range from $35 to $85 ea on Rockauto. Labor is fairly insignificant. I'm sure a small independent dealer would go the cheapest route possible.
Toyota/Lexus upper control arms are $500 (internet price) ea.

You may wish to keep in mind that you are close to a very important date. The last day of the month, the last day of the quarter, and the last day of the year, Sales people may be working to meet quota or get over a hurdle for a bonus. Sales manager may be working towards similar. Well researched that the best deals may be made by a buyer on or just before the last day of the month. https://www.autotrader.com/car-revie...e-month-228362 Dealers have told me used cars as well as new sometimes may be had for the best deal at month end. One GM told me that if below the sales goal, make any deal to get closer, if at the sales goal, make any deal to get a cushion. If above the sales goal, make any deal as it's all gravy. He said when a $1000 salesperson's bonus or a $10,000 sales manager's bonus may be dependent on it, sales have taken place at prices at a loss for the individual sale itself. Ownership may not be happy with that individual sale, but looks at the big picture. If a new car, ownership may be getting factory sales incentives.
