2004 Mark Levinson UL - speaker replacement?
I have a question. Is the speakers on the door powered by the amp? And if I put a 150 watt 8 ohm door speaker would I have problems ?

Yes, the door speaker is powered by the amp. Do you have a Mark Levinson system? Why don't you just rebuild the speaker with a kit from SimplySpeakers? I ordered a kit for the front doors for a passenger side front door Levinson speaker that had a lot of distortion and it turned out the foam was almost completely broken loose from the cone. After using their kit the speaker sounds very good. If you have the Pioneer system someone here (check FAQs) can probably assist in matching up a speaker but with the Levinson system, either buy a new factory replacement (over $200), pay $29.95 to SimplySpeakers or spend a tremendous amount of money buying a whole new system. There isn't a direct replacement aftermarket for the Levinson speakers.
I’ll confirm that the Simply Speakers kits are the only way to go. All the foam on my 2004 Mark Levison system had failed. I’ve replaced the front door foam previously, did the subwoofer yesterday and ordered rear door kits today. I’m getting way too skilled at taking out LS speakers.
