I find the oil filter opening to be annoying. You have to bend it forward to access the oil filter (how is it done when on a lift?). Then, it is deformed when you put it back, with huge openings for air to enter. If they only could have hinged it...(there is a crease, not a hinge)

Maybe they sent the wrong one? There's one for 01-03 and 04-06.

That's what I thought initially but I looked at the tag underneath the cover and it said "LS430 04-06". I only paid 36 for it so I think its a "you get what you pay for" kind of deal.
