Here's a strange one. I want a replacement to have fixed calipers like the LS430. Even a 2019 S550 and A8L does not qualify in the rears. Pretty tall order...

If i had to replace my 04 LS430 today i would very likely go with a 09/10 GS350 with a similar price.. i love the look and the V6 is still solid

And if Quebec followed the 15 years import rule like most other provinces in Canada (its 25 years here..) I would go for either

Subaru Forester 2002 twin turbo

Or the smaller LS430 aka the Toyota crown 2003 with its V6

That is very interesting. The car has to be older than 15 y.o. for Canada, and older than 25 y.o. for Québec.

This is completely the opposite of California, who was trying to eliminate old cars from being on the roads and registered. Very strange if you ask me!!

i was thinking the same thing. i would think that a newer lexus hopefully would be comparable to an older model LS430. i really like the lexus brand. my wife had an ES330 that was amazing. no issues except maintenance. i had a GS430 (that i should have kept) and my wife has this LS430. all the cars have been good (knock on wood now that i have the LS430).

Believe me I feel I have more of an understanding than many Americans, through work. We have offices in Montréal and Toronto, so over the past 5 years I have tried to understand from the people I know up there, and have actually gotten some history lessons on how we've arrived at 2019. It's hard to explain, I have a soft spot for Montréal, in the big picture. But I have no relatives there, only Toronto...

Just picked up my first LS430 a few weeks back, I would probably replace it with another, maybe an 05 or an 06? Enjoying this thing too damn much haha.

I'm hoping to get another 5 years or 100,000 miles out of my 05 with almost 200k on it, and the I'll probably go for a G90. The 2020 looks super sharp.

Very tough question indeed. Probably a new Toyota 4runner limited or a 2 year old lexus GX. No other sedan can compare for both features and bullet proof reliability.

Would anybody consider a 2016+ LX570? My buddy says so what if it lasts forever, the total cost of ownership is so high doesn't matter.....I don't even like its looks and it's not that spacious inside, but likely as reliable as our LS430s...

Default The last one

Prior to my LS I had a 126 Mercedes diesel that I dearly loved. Old but comfy, and darn near bulletproof.
In fact this corespondent might not be with you were it not for that car. Stopped on freeway and rear ended by Ford F 150 @ about 45 MPH. I walked away, the 126 was towed from the scene. It takes a heck of an impact to fold a 126 up to the rear glass.
Had a sore neck for a few weeks, and that's all. Fortunately the other meathead...err driver was OK 85 YO guy with legal minimum insurance. I did not have the heart to sue the old man, just took the max his Insco would pay. I know now to use my own insurance for the portion not covered. Live and learn, and glad to be here.

Already replaced mine late december. Picked up a unmolested low mileage SC300; not nearly as comfortable but I've found enjoyment in other places.
The plan regardless of the 430 or 300 was to get a GS F in a few years. If something happens to my sierra then probably a LX 570 or a clean 470 if available.

Default It's not leaving

My new to me 05 430 UL is a replacement for..........a Prius! I'm willing to spend the fuel and maintenance dollars on the luxo barge, in exchange for the serene and oh so comfy LS.
The LS seats are heaven. My Prius had all the tech toys, PCS DRCC and active lane keeping. The LS lacks the lane keeping, and I don't miss it. The Prius needs it, the LS does not.
I like in when people can't tell I am in the car when using my headset.

Fuel mileage is about one half vs. Prius, for me it's very worth it. My 2010 Prius is for sale.

If it couldn't be another LS430 it would be a GX470.
