Default Acceleration "engine noise" different between LS 430 2001 and 2004

Hello, I had a 2001 LS 430 and recenty a 2004 President UL. I notice a small difference in slightly louder engine "noise" during acceleration upto around 2000 rpm with the new 2004. When driving 100 km/h (@1600 rpm), it is totally quiet inside. Could it be due to the different gear ratio since the 2004 has the 6 speed gear box? Or is it just normal? Maybe I am just over sensative. Both cars are in perfect condition with 200.000 km (125,000 miles).
