Techs in a hurry
Toyota store who regularly services my LS430 put a complete set of pads on my car this week. Advisor delivered it with wear indicators flashing red in the dash. He pointed it out but offered no solution me. I was cool as I have had great luck with this dealer and advisor. Got the car home and of course both sensors are unplugged. Problem fixed. I like the store and will probably call the advisor and Serv Mgr next week to offer a polite cautionary word of advice. Brake jobs usually go to the C techs so I am sure it will be a training opportunity for them It was just before lunch as well. I think I'll check my lugs in the morning.
Last month I brought my rust free, super strait 91 FJ80 to a local tire store to have a set of tires changed over from another vehicle. It was kind of a Dukes of Hazard scene as I walked in to see the 2x8 stacked under my pristine rig with all four wheels off. It seemed to be dangling atop the lift and as I approached my truck I saw in HORROR that not one but both of my pristine rust free California rockers were bowed and the pinch welds were utterly flattened against the now bulging rocker.
I almost passed out as I have delt with a tad of high BP in recent years. I knew to calmly take a deep breath and walk to the lounge to point this out to the owner. He offered to "help" me when it came time to paint my sun bleached rust free formerly strait FJ80. He confidently said if he had a frame machine he could "tug those back pretty close in a few minutes." NO THANK YOU. Unbelievable I paid the bill and left. ****!
Seems like our fears about the end of our civilization at the hand of this millennial, tattooed hipster, snowflake, video game generation may be upon us... I think I'll go check my lugs again.
