Stock wheel material?
Dumb question I know, but what kind of metal is the stock wheels? I assume it's an alloy or aluminum of some sort, but if it's possible to paint them with good results?

I'm not trying to change the color, they're pretty beat up and scratched so I wanted to try and restore them.

They are an Alumalum Alloy. A decent primer and good wheel paint will have them looking like new again.. Remember, a paint job is 95% prep work....

Pretty sure services do them at a reasonable rate, there was a gentleman here who took them to such a shop. and I don't remember the details but remember thinking they were totally reasonable....

Paint color for Lexus wheels
I bought my 2005 LS430 Premium with 70K on the odometer (192K now!) and I have one wheel that is peeling pretty badly, apparently from a previous sub-par repair.
I want to redo it myself. Anybody know of a list of paint codes for Lexus wheels? It's not anywhere in the VIN.
For reference: I have the (non-sport) 17" - 6 spoke - painted silver. I want to get close enough to the other 4 to put all 5 wheels in the tire rotation schedule.
Thanks!
