Today while waiting at the traffic light, I checked out that fancy, wood-ish center console trim, I wondered if we can use this space as a wireless charger? by attaching a wireless charger underneath it, that will be great addition to our Luxurious princess
- Once I reached home. I've removed the center console trim and did a quick test with a cheap Chinese wireless charger. but It didn't work (maybe cuz the gap was a little bit long for such a low quality charger?)... Fortunately from what I can see, the console cover is not that thick at all. so maybe we can do it with a better charger? or if we strip the charger from the rubber cover and attach the charging coil directly?
- will keep you posted after testing with another charger
Note: In case you want to try for yourself , the cover can be easily removed by prying the panel that holds the (VSC, Headlight washer.. etc) controls, then rotating the shift **** counter-clock wise, then just pull the cover upwards it will come out easily.
is there enough room with the cup holder? i never looked into it, but not sure what rotates when you extend the cup holders.i know the bracket for the cup holders is right there. i'm sure there's enough room height wise, but not sure if anything moves when you pull the cup holders out.
Today I got the original Samsung wireless, But still. I failed miserably The signal cannot pass through the plastic. EVEN after taking apart the charger and sticking the wire exactly underneath the trim.
I guess that's because the trim has a prominent grid that's higher than the other surface by at least 3mm. (It's apparent in the picture in OP)
If we can just get rid of that grid by sanding it or with a little dremel. It can work.

Stay at it, My man... I'd love to see the end result be a positive!
