One and a half month update of ownership

Dang, and here I thought I'd owned sort of a lot of cars in 15 years of driving... wrong! Then again, I didn't own any cars at all for about 5 years in my early-mid 20s when I moved to Portland from NC.
1994 Madza 626 5-speed manual - First car... Good beater first car but was always in the shop.
1994 LS400 - Bought it when I was still in high school and into college. Many people in HS said "ohhh mommy and daddy bought you a new Lexus" haha. Little did they know that it was actually 10 years old already.
2001 Toyota Celia GT 5-speed manual - Greeeeat car! Definitely not a "fast" car, but toooons of fun to toss around. Was the most reliable car I've ever owned. Bought it at ~50k miles and drove it to 180k miles only having to replace 1 wheel bearing in all those miles. Shouldn't have ever sold it.
1999 Toyota 4Runner V6 - Great vehicle and outrageously capable off-road 'out of the box'. It had a factory rear diff locker which got me out of a lot of sketchy situations on the trail. Got ran off the road by a drunk driver right into a telephone pole
2002 Dodge Grand Caravan w/Touring suspension- Bought it because I was working for a company that delivered lost airline luggage... needed lots of cargo carrying capacity, comfortable, and reasonable gas mileage. Good van other than that awful transmission that needed to be rebuilt twice...
2008 Kawasaki Ninja EX250 - Fun little crotch rocket. Previous owner put giant jets in the carburetor which gave it considerably more power than it should have had. Co-worker backed into it/over it when it was parked at work one day. Kinda glad this happened since it had a warped head and kept eating head gaskets... plus I crossed owning a bike off my bucket list and was 'over' the danger of riding a motorcycle after many close calls.
1996 Ford Ranger 2.3 5-speed - Great little truck and reliable as all get-out. Kind of wish I never sold this one as well...
2001 LS430 Sport - Great car but it wasn't exactly what I wanted in an LS. As my signature says, I was less than thrilled with the exterior and interior colors lol
2004 LS430 Sport - Best. Car. Ever. 'nuff said.

Kinda funny, but previous to my LS - I was sub-leasing a 2015 Passat which I thought was such a great value for money @ $200/mo. I had to return it at lease end and was thinking about Corollas and Yaris's for economy.
Looking at prices for a 10 year old Corolla or Yaris...it caught my attention that I could get a 15 year old big body Lexus for the same price and same reliability as the Corolla.
Not to mention #millionmilelexus and all the YouTube video research I did prior to buying.
My boss had 2 LS430s, one up in the tri-state and one at his Florida home and he swears by them also.

had mine 5 and a half years and would not sell it for twice what it is worth. still enjoy the sound of motor and the smooth shifting transmission. love my Lexus, 1st car I have owned that I was not ready to trade when paid off.

I feel the same way. I have mine 9 years and have still been unable to find another LS430 equivalent to mine in condition to upgrade to. As time goes on it gets harder to find anything decent so it looks like I'll be keeping my car for many years to come.

I'll third this notion. I've always been one to jump from vehicle to vehicle after about 2 years of ownership as I was ready for a change. After 3 years of owning my '04 LS, I couldn't imagine owning a different car... except for maybe an LX470 but only as a second vehicle
