Default Finally joined the club (after several misfires)

I brought home a 2005 ML in Moonlight Pearl over Cashmere, which absolutely floored me the first time I saw it. 130k miles and it looks like it has never seen the weather down here in FL. Bought from a Toyota dealer where it was traded in only 2 weeks ago. EDIT: I want to add that the car comes with nice condition Michelin Pilots all around (except for the spare which is the Dunlop).

I got this car because of my current 3-series, which I love. I asked my wife's opinion of that car one day and she told me that she would rather have one where she couldn't feel or hear anything. I immediately knew it had to be an LS.

I actually bought an LS430 several weeks ago, but it overheated on the way home and I returned it under a 5-day return policy. I then found another that was very nice, but when I went to pick it up and sign the paperwork, the paint was flaking off on a wheel well (the small-time dealer had covered a rust area, and the cover had fortunately come off in recent rain).

Anyway, here she is. Thanks to all the club members who have listened to my stories so far!

Looks like you got a winner. I'll ask the standard question... Has the Timing Belt been changed?

First glance, the car looks very well maintained, so I would guess it's been done already.

Congratulations on the new car!!

And I will give the standard answer: Of COURSE the prior owner didn't change it!

That said, I believe myself competent to tackle that job with an Aisin kit sometime in the near future. I didn't trade my current car, so I have a backup for when I get the LS opened up to the do TB at least.

When washed and wax, these white cars really pop! Great pickup, enjoy it in good health!

I did my timing belt last week on my 2005 ML with 59K on it. Really wasn't terribly difficult at all. The toughest parts were catching all the coolant when I pulled the old water pump off (cascaded down the front of the engine in a beautiful Pink waterfall and for the most part missed my bucket ), and getting the bolts out of the compressor. They were a little finicky. But all in all, it's not a bad job, as many have stated on here..
