Default 2004 ls heating question

just learning about all the stuff in my new to me lexus ls430
my question is the heater in my car doesn't seem to be working right or I'm doing something wrong
when I put the heat on to blow through the vents the passenger side gets hot and the drivers side seems like the vents are open luke warm air, shouldn't they both be the same.jimbo

Make sure that your passenger and driver side climate controls are set the same.

Check you're heater core hoses of you are sure that your coolant is not low. Make sure the inlet and outlet are the same temp. Don't get these confused with your radiator hoses.

The LS430 A/C system is designed to provide separate temperature controls for the driver and passenger. For heater operation, the A/C system opens the coolant valve in the engine bay and allow hot coolant to flow through the heater radiator in the cabin. It will regulate the coolant flow to provide more heat than is demanded, and meanwhile adding cold air to the mix to dehumidify the air. So, let's say your passenger sets the passenger-side temperature to 80°F and you set the driver-side temperature to 70°F, the A/C system will mix in more cold air to the driver-side to drop the temperature to your demand.

However, if you are certain that both temperature settings are the same, but you feel a deviation in air temperature coming out of the two sides, then the culprit may very likely be a stuck/bad servomotor. See the various servomotors for the driver-side (circled in red) and the passenger-side (circled in blue).
