Default Plastic fasteners under the hood

2001 430ls I had birds building a nest under the hood under a plastic cover with plastic fasteners. The fasteners don't have a slot in the head so I'm wondering how do I open these fasteners. There are about eight of them on various covers.

Use a small flathead screwdriver and pry up on the inner circle and it will pop right up. They are super easy to loose in the expansive engine bay so be super carefull when removing them from the plastic

Thanks, I got them out, and didn't lose any. I figured this forum was the best place to ask. And it was. Thanks again for the quick response, kept me from breaking anything.

Flat head screwdriver is the cheap way of doing it, and the quickest way to ruining them as well, but works in a pinch as you know. But this is the gadget you want if you're doing lots of them

You can modify a fork and it works great as long as you have space.
