So my tags are up for renewal. Its been one year since I bought something on my bucket list and that being a LS430 UL. I still smile every time I get in it and drive.
So I told my lovely understanding wife I wanted to get a vanity license plate that said I was driving a UL that was one of 1687 out of a total 31,697 LS430's built that year. Seems people are always trying to figure out what LS430 model they see is. She said "sure". Great wife.

So I was set on one of these and wonder what the consensus would be if I asked?

Sure it says LS430 on the trunk in gold letters even (on mine), but somehow "LS430UL" is my favorite. I've got till the end of Feb to decide.

For me, I have always liked the way in Porsche nomenclature there is a designation....for example, you don't say 911 Carrera. You say, 996, 997, 991, 991.2, C2S, C4S, etc.

How about if there is something similar, indication it's a LS430 with the ultra luxury package? Maybe it's not like that for our LS....I mean I've heard UCF30, is there some suffix to indicate UL? Or UCF30-UL lol

Vanity plates remind me of getting a tattoo. Less permanent of course.

The average Joe won't know what UL means. Although LS430UL, kind of looks like "soul" with a backwards S.

I would probably go "LS430". Keep it simple.

I like the invisibility of mine (Millennium Silver) and the "old man" styling. Maybe "SMOOTH" should be considered.

430 UL (a space is 1/2 of a letter in AZ, with a max of 7 letters)
MY 04 UL (two spaces, I think I like this best, leaves people guessing what an UL is)

So far and I indeed want to thank everyone for all the responses so far. I happen to be leaning towards either "04 ultra", "04 UL", or "2004 UL".

it's only for other Lexus owners like my self who see one and wonder what kind it might be. Others don't care or have no idea.

Checking the Washington database shows that Ultra is already taken. The other two are available though.

Not sure you want just UL. Some people might think you work for Underwriter's Lab...

UCF30/31 is how Lexus refers to the model and generation.
