Default Hood Support Struts

I need to replace the hood struts and wanted to get recommendations. Fig Engineering makes a great product but you need the hardware(*****) because they don't have a clip like the factory struts. Does anyone have a recommendation what to use. I really would like to use the Fig Eng. struts but don't want to replace the ***** if I don't have to. Thanks for your help!

I bought Monroes, which came with the ball studs. Cheap, but I don't like them after 1 yr--they are not falling, but they are not lifting either....my next go 'round will be Sachs aka Stabilus. Used them to replace my original BMWs (Stabilus makes the OE which are costly @ $74 ea). Going to get them for the LS430 next time as they're $11.50 ea on rock...so if there's a way to get the ball studs separately, I'd go Sachs. If quality is available at $11.52 plus shipping, why spend more......

p.s. I don't think Stabilus is trying to be jerks. The fact that we need the ball studs is because the original Tokicos do not allow them to separate, whereas most of these lifts use a clip.

p.p.s. amazon carries them so now you can get free shipping for $3 more, and if any issues, return. They do not come with the ball studs

+2 on Sachs I have them on my 400 and 430. Quality products. You can buy the hardware (ball studs) at local auto parts stores if you don't feel like going to a dealer.

I purchased these back in September of last year and they've been doing great so far:

Interesting the ball studs are a little pricey @ $4 ea discount! The only thing I would add is washers might be needed...I didn't use them (shame on me) as I just wanted to get the job done and was relying on a 2x4 to hold the hood....and my neck lol

I googled the replacement Lexus part and it does separate and needs ball studs, so looks like only the factory ones were like that

I found a similar product on Amazon ("Ezzy Lift 6236") and they are still working fine after 3+ years. They swapped out okay but replacing these struts is a bit of a project....

I'd recommend the FIGS struts. Changing the ball studs is not difficult and in my situation I wanted to replace them anyway as mine were rusting. Had mine for years and they still work.

Got mine off ebay and they came with new ball studs that fit perfectly. Found it pretty easy to swap out.
Strong arms for the win... so far.

Had problems on both ends for lift struts. So I decided to try these out. So far, zero problems and they work great even when its -25F.

Ordered and installed these from Amazon just last month. Chose Lift Supports Depot to get $14.80 price per piece.
They do come with the ball studs.

They are great and the hood no more falls on my head.

I just did the same Strong Arms front and back on mine and am impressed. One strut up front held the hood.

I installed the StrongArms for my parent's as soon as they got the car. No problems, the hood isn't bowing out(which is a common problem on the 1LS with aftermarket gas springs). It's not as smooth as the OEM KYB or Tokico springs.
