2011 IS350 gets no better mileage than LS430
Long story short, we have my LS430 and a 2011 IS350. Also an old 2003 Yukon which I just had the exhaust upgraded, lol had no idea it would be quite that loud (but I absolutely love how it sounds), so when I need to make a late 2AM run to the store I take the IS so I won't disturb any nieghbors. Yukon is what I always drive and it's always parked behind my LS (which is in the garage) in the driveway, so the 430 rarely gets driven, which is fine by me-- let her be a garage queen.
Anywho, now that I've been driving and enjoying the IS350 more I noticed it gets virtually no better mileage than my V8 LS430. Tank average on IS350 is always around 17.5, which is within a half a MPG give or take of what my LS gets. That's a little surprising, even taking in to consideration how powerful the V6 is. The car is driven by my spouse very gently, as well. Not great gas mileage these little cars get. I don't care, gas is cheap and the 350 is definitely one of the fastest cars I've ever driven so it's a fair trade off. I will say, while I'm impressed with the output and acceleration, the V6 in my old '06 TL was far smoother and sounded way better. This 3.5 sounds like a vacuum cleaner. But hey, 0-60 in 5 seconds flat is nice.
But yeah, a little surprised the IS doesn't at least get 19-20mpg.
