That is what the engine bay looks like now
If you remove the plastic piece by the headlight you have this opening right here.

The red area is were the box will be it will be made of aluminum flashing. And any part near the engine bay will be covered in heat reflective tape.
I am still drawing out the plans but It will be getting done in two weeks if there is enough demand I would even consider making some for other people I am not crossing my finger on that part

Be sure to have foam/rubber on the top of the box so that it seals firmly against the hood.

That's something I am debating is should I just do foam around the top or should I make it an actual sealed box with a lid?

If you know something I don't please share cause I am all ears =)

Default Thermal management

Not a fan of K&N....

Thermal management offers a better engineered solution than aftermarket...

??????????????????????
No one was talking about k&n I have an Injen intake on my car its shown right in the pictures at the top.

Also there's no temp probes or dyno runs in your link. I am wrapping the intake pipe as well as the heat shield in heat reflective tape as well as making two ducts that go directly to the filter I have to get supplies from the hardware store which won't happen till next week unfortunatly.

Not to you specifically....but prodigious amounts of hack job non-engineered solutions posted across the model spectrum on ClubLexus.

Your solution does not personally appeal.to me because it will increase intake noise, uses metal for the intake plumbing (more readily absorbs underhood heat which dissipates into intake stream) and.eliminates overall benefits of the intake dampener and factory ram air intake assembly.

Thermal management provides demonstrated results.

My LS400 is easily faster than your LS430 on account of simply Extrude Honing the intake....without compromising anything while improving everything.

Feel.free to peruse my postings as to your interest.

Lmfao what does that have to do with anything? Your one of those people since you eloquently called me out let's race $1000 buy in, I know for a fact my car will beat yours, I have PPE headers will be getting a full exhaust made,i know my car will eat yours for breakfast......

Also you have not read any of my posts at all clearly and plastic retains heat longer than aluminum does.

Here is the steps I photographed wrapping my intake. That's the start with supplies razor blade, rubbing alcohol, sharp scissors and patience.
I was gonna take my sensor out but the screws are super maliable and just stripping so I left them in.
Half way through the wrap
3/4 of the way done 😆

All done was much more difficult than I thought it's just tedious work that requires patience.
End result after it has been reinstalled in the engine bay
Another picture of the reinstalled intake

So, reminds me of a debate with a neighbor over drinks whether he or I was the Alpha male...so I said ;"Better ask your wife...." LOL

In the same vein, before posting my earlier statement, I beat a (stock). 2006 LS430...the LS430 was faster for the first 100 feet, but my extrude-honed intake really made a difference in 1/4 mile...

Ideally, an LS430 engine into a LS400, using stock LS400ECU and cam phasers(if same journal diameter) would present increased power production.

So you know, the A650-E 5 speed is medium duty as nd rated for 325 HP.

Not sure what is the 6-speed rating

On information the LS400 cam phasers provide 45 degrees advance while the LS430 is 40 degrees advance...would explain the LS430's lower RPM torque advantage, yet similar peak HP.

I do not like the cylinde to cylinder bore wall liner spacing in the 3UZ-FE block...

Extrude Hone has tooling that I provided for the ACIS manifold. ...

Good luck.

You have no idea what you are talking about the a650-e is good to 450hp numerous posts on the gs sc and supra forums will back this up. So please unless you are going to contribute factual usefull information or prove that your the "alpha male" please stay out of my thread.

Default "cold" air intake

Just read what Kenne Bell ( a leading manufacturer of superchargers, and original designer for the Buick Grand National turbo)) has to say:
Kenne Bell - Tech - FAQ - what is the most ridiculous aftermarket product.
Personally I cannot see how a wrapped intake pipe can prevent hot underhood air being sucked in by the filter cone
