I think that tires are very subjective....some are obviously unanimous, such as Pilot Super Sports and whichever iteration of it being excellent, but that is the exception.
My Nissan is the only car I've owned, where I've had at least 6 sets of tires for, simply based on time and mileage (19 years and 260k). Through this I've learned that treadwear is meaningless across brands, traction is subjective, and all tires seem to behave differently. I settled on Kumho Ecstas based solely on price (the rebate takes an unreasonable amount of time, never again). They don't last that long, but neither did Bridgestone 960's. The original RS-A's lasted about 90k, with dry rot, but were also poor tires. Had some Sumitomos too. Never went premium on that car.
As an experiment, I decided to NOT rotate the tires to see what would happen. The fronts were shot in about 22k, totally shot. This implied on a FWD car, the fronts wore 3X as fast as the rears.
I'm resolved to do Costco going forward. They are not the cheapest, but they offer most everything, and the price is inclusive, and plus we can do the no tax and 5% making it cheaper than online in some cases...

Another P7 convert...you wont be disappointed.............Just to give u guys another rain story......I drove from Va to PA to see my niece graduate college. It was over 3 hours of driving in the rain. Again I drove cautious because it was night time and raining......but again zero issues with wet traction. I was on the PA Turnpike where the road grooves hold standing water. I didnt want to change lanes because I could see this standing water. There were a couple of times that I had no choice but to change lanes....the P7's plowed right through the standing water at 70mph with no issues. These P7's are excellent tires.......just dont drive like one of the many idiots you see on the road blasting past you at 85mph in the pouring rain and you will be fine.

I’m definitely not a speed demon; I just have to contend with pot holes.
Also, I switched to 16” wheels on my Ls430, and the Michelin primacys are not available in 16s. Only the Michelin Defender and the Michelin A/S come in 16s.

I've got probably 15K miles on my P7s now and they don't show much wear at this point. 95% of my driving is on the freeway, so not a lot of heavy cornering, but I do like them so far.. I don't use them between November and April, so no experience with them in the winter, but rain driving has been great with these tires.

I've got 25k on them now and I like the ride comfort and noise, but they are really bad in the rain. So bad to the point that I don't drive that car if it is expected to rain. Started degrading aroud 16k or 17k miles if I remember correctly. I have to be very careful in the rain, almost to the same level if I were driving in the snow or ice. Have to allow extra time to stop and extra room to turn onto wet highways. No suddenly throttle input or slamming on the brakes. Wouldn't even consider letting someone else in my family drive it in the rain. Plan on going back to my old Premier as soon as I have time to get around to it. The AS+ and Premier are very close in noise and ride, but the Premier is light years ahead of the AS+ in wet traction. All in all, it's not a bad tire, you just better know what you are doing in the wet as they age and understand it's limitations.
