After 6 sets of tires seems they wear in the middle more versus on the shoulders when I shoot for 33 psi at least here in Wisconsin, temperatures and fluctuations and attention to PSI have alot to do with trie wear. I think if I was shooting for 34 I would be getting more center tire wear. Most my miles are hwy from Appleton to Fond du lac daily 90 miles round trip to work.

Not following the factory, isn't that what our grandfather's did? I think that reasoning is gone. They used to say they don't follow the factory because the factory wanted a soft ride. I've been following the door sticker on all my cars since 1998. Since BMW has 2 sets of numbers, I follow the one for performance.

Most do just that. Some cars are very sensitive to specific specs within the "green area". I believe our cars are not performance cars and there is more leeway. My previous G35 was fairly specific where the camber and toe should be. I'd still rather have a "good alignment" whenever it is done. I try to go to a shop that has a dedicated tech for alignments with the latest state of the art machine. Once again...I'm super **** but I feel my car reflects my efforts regardless of it's age.
In a way, I feel that Firestone does a better job than BMW (who broke a sensor wire adjusting the rear toe), but I won't bring my BMW to them (go figure). I honestly feel the lifetime alignments which cost $170 to $190, are ones in which the house loses. I suppose if one shops around, an alignment can be as cheap as $60. Using that number, the break-even is 3. My wife has already had 2 in 6k, and I was contemplating bringing it back again cuz I scuffed a curb and was curious if the rear right is out again. On the LS430, I haven't gotten around to bringing it back, and prolly went 8k. I'd be curious to see if any numbers got worse, the rear right was -1.9 which was out of spec, wonder if it got worse or stayed put....at firestone they centered both wheels perfectly. At BMW, they failed to do that (probably laziness). Actually, I should go back and look at the BMW paperwork--I'd be curious if they set all the numbers in the center of the range. I admit, firestone attempts to make everything green, they don't necessarily adjust things to the middle of the range.

Jabberwock. Did you actually feel a difference after replacing your LCA bushings with what I hope were OEM? Please tell. I just ordered OEM fluid filled LCA bushings from Ebay to install at the same time I'm getting my new P7 Pirellis. I hope it makes a difference but regardless is a very reasonable investment at $100 and change for the bushings and about $100 to install.

Finally had 17" Michelin Premiers and new 17" rims installed yesterday at Discount Tire.
There is a definite decrease in road noise and increase in comfort going from 18" to 17" tires.
The front vibration is gone since going to new rims. I would encourage anyone with OEM rims and vibration to have them forced balanced to make sure the rims aren't bent.
I have two of the 18" OEM lexus rims that I will be selling. I will clean them up and take pictures shortly.

Got my set of 4 Pirelli P7 Cinturato A/S plus delivered today. Can't give an opinion since they are piled in a stack of 4 in my foyer. Waiting for my Caster Bushings to be installed next week and then the tire install followed by the alignment. It was a very hard decision choosinig tires since I've come from the treasured leader of Grand Touring Tires.. Michelin Primacys... I've always been a fan of Michelins but needed to make a change at this time. Hopefully I can return back with a full critical review of the P7s with all the details. Stay tuned fans!!!!

Good, you should get what you wanted....when my wife got the Premiers, they were "Lost" at Costco. very weird, seriously, unusual. I bet it was a 5 finger discount. So the second time they gave me FedEx tracking to the store, and 4 tires were shipped overnight (can you imagine the cost even to amazon due to like 31 lbs. each?). I saw they went from the Michelin distribution center in IL to the store in DE....when you spend your time researching and decide upon a specific make/model, imho there shouldn't be any substitution....

Don't feel bad. A few days ago when ordering my 4 P7s from tire rack, 2 ended up at my door. Where where the other 2 ? I called UPS and of course Tire Rack and it turns out the driver dropped them off at Tire Kingdom in another town, not even looking at the address and name! I ended up getting the other 2 yesterday. As far as manufacturer dates, my tires are extremely hard to find with the V rating and load rating of 97V. Tire kingdom and Pep Boys could not get them period! 2 tires were manufactured last month, and 2 were manufactured 11 months ago. I'm ok with that. I've heard of someone purchasing at another on line vendor (not naming them) with a manufacturing date close to 3 years old.

Should I settle for these or get the Premiers? I will pay $10 difference for each tire for the Premiers.

Based on the reviews on Amazon people either hated or loved the tire.

I have to give the Michelin Premier A/S a double thumbs up.

Over the years, the tire of choice for my daily driver has been the Michelin MXV4. A few years ago, I bought a set of Premier A/S for my 2003 LS430. They were installed on 5-spoke Lexus 18” rims, from the 2004-2006 series. Tire size was 245/45/18. The car previously had 17” chrome rims, with a generic tire (don’t remember the brand). The new rims/tires changed the driving experience substantially. Firmer, tighter, much more fun.

A few months ago, I bought a 2005 LS430, with the UL package. It had 17” OEM rims, also with a generic tire. I swapped the wheels, so my 2005 now has the 5-spoke Lexus 18” rims, with the Premier A/S tires. Between the two cars, the total mileage to date on these tires is about 13K. On the 2005, I have also been experimenting with the settings for sport and air suspension.

In my opinion, the Premier A/S is a great tire for this car. Handling is crisp and precise, and the tire does everything reasonably well. I haven’t driven the car in snow or heavy rain (I live in San Diego), so I can’t comment on those conditions.

Also, I should mention that while this is not the quietest tire I have ever driven, it is not bad (actually it is pretty good). However, if you are looking for a quiet ride, I think your efforts might be better served by looking at other areas of your vehicle – including the grease on your door and window seals. < Do a search on these forums for “wind noise” / “silicone grease” / “Shin-Etsu” and you will begin to understand. >
