Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor
Now I have a better picture myself,,,,on my Nissan, it's in the throttle body. And, my Nissan threw codes from time to time, and when the code was present, the rpms fluctuated, and being a physical cable linkage to it, pressing the accelerator to the floor multiple times would cure it, sometimes for 2 years. The reason I did not replace was a right angle screwdriver was needed which I do have, but the screw was frozen and stripped. If the LS430 follows the same concept, but places the TPS at the pedal, then it would almost stand to reason that if pressing on it a few times does not work, and if it's not a software glitch, then the physical device needs to be replaced. But I think on the LS430 it's like 10X the cost of the Nissan....
Thanks, @bradland ! I do need 04, so what a bummer, I double-checked too. But good to know it is called that. Could Bell just not offer??.... I will try a couple other sites.
Really? yeah I checked 3 other sites. Goose chase here, eh?
Amayama had this, but when I put that number in Bell, it said unfound:
89452-87Z01
Weight unknown
Catalog SENSOR, THROTTLE POSITION
Out of stock
There is a new one on ebay, but I will email the seller first and respond to complete this thread.
Nah, when I put my VIN in Amayama, it said no matches found. Then I put it in the ebay fit guide and it said negative.
Any idea what they did instead? @Yamae ??

If you check the rockauto catalog, it shows a TPS sensor for a 2003 (PFL) but not a 2004. Not sure what takes the place of the TPS but probably just built into the throttle body electronics and not a serviceable part.
Strange that he states to manually move the throttle blade and not use the gas pedal to open the throttle when cleaning. It is my understanding that manually operating the throttle blade on a drive by wire throttle body is NOT a good practice. Google search does seem to validate that if you don't look at all the idiot youtube videos
