Who has used various kits to allow roof carriers / bike etc. I see where Thule has rail sets for $379 and there are more generic roof rails for $60.

Any recommendations on what to buy and where to get them at?

 

Not been alot of talk on racks on the forums in general. No gutters watch out for racks which will mung the paint.

 

If you want to haul bikes, install a trailer hitch and use a rack that fits. You'll find there's not much information in here for putting roof racks on an LS.

 

I used the Thule kit on a Mini Cooper S , which also did not have rain gutters to mount the risers to. The Thule kit was well made and did not mar the paint under the riser foot. I did carefully clean and detail the roof first. The foot attached viz a vacuum foot base and was very secure. I can't recall ever seeing a roof rack on an LS.
