My son has a 2002 LS 430 and I need to replace the engine. The car has about 100k miles and was severely overheated. I have the engine out of the car and am in need of a donor. Has anyone had any experience with JDM engines? These engines come from Japan. (1) Is this a "Plug n' Play" installation? (2) Are the emission controls/sensors the same? (3) How is their ability to answer technical questions about the install / customer service?

 

I haven't had done this swap with the LS430, however, I have done an engine swap on one of my previous Acura Legends. One thing to observe is the EGR system in case you may need to reuse something from the USDM motor. I would swap the engine harness due to the orientation of the driver's seat so plugs could be flipped. Those are some of the big things off the top of my head.
