I never got to check out Castle while it was open. I did a little photography there about 8 years ago, documenting the decline.

When you turn the key on the system determines by way of the inside and outside air temps, the solar sensors front and rear and the humidity. My 4runner is the same way. When I smoke I use the fresh air function. Many times when I turn it off and come right back it will be in re circulation mode.

Cool, that's what I wanted to know. When it's hot and dry I like to let the car breath while it's parked.

I served during the 90's. I did all my time up at Beale, with what seemed like constant deployments around the world. I was an avionics sensors tech. Worked on the photo and radar imagery systems on the U-2. It was a cool gig. Sometimes I regret getting out, but I probably wouldn't have my current job if I stayed in.

@Howzit @jimbosr1 @BradTank @Tom57 @legend921 @toyo , Seeing this conversation from 4 years ago. I just purchased my 04 last fall and started having this issue. After reading this convo, I knew not to waste my time with attempting cleaning, and ordered the sensor from OEMvehicleparts.com for $120 shipped, and thanks to you again replaced it myself! Now my ventilation system is doing a wild dance and I live watching it work! I wish I had replaced this on my 03, but it wasn't really showing the issue. This is probably something a lot of people should replace but figure if it is blowing cool air.....
The CL community at work! Thank you all for your chat, and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
