Detail and Polish for Mother's Day (Late)
For the past couple of years, for each Mother's day, I've spent the better part of a day detailing my mom's Lexus. She thoroughly enjoys it and looks forward to it. I know it won't leave the garage for a couple of weeks like as she likes to maintain it's 'new' appearance. Due to her travel and scheduling issues I finally got to detail her car yesterday.
Win for mom as she gets just what she wants and gifts of service are well received.
Win for me as I get to enjoy cleaning her car and spending the day with my Dad. Even at 80 he's right out there in the Texas heat helping me. I give him the non-sharp power tools, i.e. buffer.
Here's a few pics of the end result from : wash, claybar, polish and wax.

Nothing special.
Wash it with soap and water to remove dirt and previous wax
I use Mother's claybar - excellent results if you've never done it before, definitely a must try. Leaves the paint as smooth as glass.
Then follow up with Meguairs Ultimate polish with my 6 inch orbital polisher to make the job easier.
Finish up with some Zymol liquid wax and plenty of microfiber towels and buffing.
Turtle rubbing compound to clean the yellowing off the headlights.
You can do it without the polisher, but it takes more effort/time.
Inside I just use Meguiars Gold Class leather cleaner and interior detailer.
And some simple green on the carpets if needed.
I learned a lot from perusing this thread.

Not an expert, but have certainly improved my results.
She will keep it in the garage for a couple of weeks before she'll break down and risk getting it dirty, LOL..
Thanks for the positive comments guys...
