LS400 --> LS430 strut compatability

LS400 --> LS430 strut compatability
Hey guys!
I know from ucf20 to ucf30 they redesigned the suspension setup, are these struts by any chance, "the same" or VERY similar? (it may lower the car a little, or raise it, but im talking about how it mounts to the vehicle . i don't want to f' anything up)
my ls430 has the typical bouncy rear suspension (AIR), and I have a chance at buying used ls400 (1997) struts (STEEL + working great) for $60 (a tad less than over $3000 quoted for just the rears at my local stealership)
if this isn't possible i'll be dropping a grand on BCs pretty soon.
what do you guys think?
