Or they just realized it did nothing. Notice that much better cars, like the S550 and S600 Maybach, do not have this option, either.
Or, maybe the LS430 was a really special vehicle and those mentioned are not that much better... I find the feature helpful. Necessary? No, but a good feature nonetheless. You can turn it off.
Mine is 04 withe 153,000 miles. Mine works but I don't use it as I don't like air blowing on my face so it's off all the time.
Don't be scared to use it if you want to, you payed for it. I got mine used so it was there.
It works well and you can always lower or raise the vents so they do not blow directly on you. I have mine facing up towards the ceiling and it works well not getting the full force of air on your face... LOL.
since I am usually alone in my car, the vents only go center and back on me and move together. If you use the dual zone to change the temp on one side the vents move in a different way. left goes on me and right goes on passenger side and both move to center together. this is the way I prefer them to move.
S550-S600 are definitely not much better cars than the LS430. I think they meant that the higher priced cars over the LS430 doesn't even have this option.
