Set it on cruise control and enjoy the ride. Folks are getting good gas mileage driving 75mph.

70 mph is the sweet spot on my UL. It may be a little slower then the average traffic but it does save you money. I loose about 2 - 4 mpg between 75 and 80 mph. Check your tires. I run mine at 35 psi. Have a nice trip. It will be a comfortable ride.

yeah, avoid I95...what an uninspiring highway.

i'd gas up on the NJ turnpike before you enter delaware and maryland, always seems they have cheaper gas in spite of the fact that they have to pay someone to pump it.

yes , like the guys say put the cruise on and enjoy!! I just came back from Mackinaw Island , round trip about 1000 miles , no problems what so ever , and this was the best riding car I ever took a trip in , my 2005 LS with 104.000 miles on her , I only run premium , I was averaging 27.6 to the gallon with 4 people and a trunk full of luggage running 75 miles per hour !!!!

No bad Johnny. The highest I have achieved out of mine is around 31 mpg in ideal conditions. Weight and speed are the biggest factors.

31 wow that's fantastic for a V8 , but your correct speed has a lot to do with it 75 compared to 60 or 65 mph makes a big difference but I didn't want to get rear ended of people flashing there lights at me , theres a lot of crazy drivers out there loll...

Same here, cruising at 70 MPH Louisville to Indianapolis back to Louisville. A mostly flat straight road (I-65). Unbelievable for the size of the engine

It's very impressive for a older V8 without cylinder shut off. Imagine if our engines had this technology. Even the WRX is lucky to see 34 mpg under ideal conditions.

I recently had a 1000 mile trip. The 430 was very generous on the highway, at least way better than city, in terms of mpg. I'd say pick out some really cool music, and enjoy the drive.

But honestly, right around that 200 mile mark, the drivers seat started to feel uncomfortable and I had to change positions for the rest of the trip. I do have a lower herniated disk, but it is a subjective matter for sure. I still think that the seat could've been manufactured a little bit better.

You might consider replacing the seat bottom cushion. I have heard a lot of good reviews about this. My old Lexus masters mechanic recommended it as well.

Default road trip ls430 ul

re seats
I noticed that too on a 800 mile trip. After 4 hours I felt it in the back.
Just wondering: can you install aftermarket seats without the electric cha cha? Frankly - after you adjusted the seats they never need to be moved again. And even aftermarket seats have adjustments
Dreaming of a Scheel-Mann seat which I had in the bimmer many many years ago

When I had my '05 UL, I cruised a 600 mile one-way trip, going 80-85mph (at times 90 mph-ish) and still got 25.5 mpg. I never tried going slower, I'm too impatient..
