Default Low MPG?

I usually drive 5-10 miles a day, mostly city traffic (stop, go, stop, go) and I average around 13 miles a gallon. Is this considered low? I have a few things that are gonna be changed that will hopefully make a difference (valve cover gaskets, clean MAF sensor, clean throttle body, and installing new temp sensor). Reading other posts, people usually get 16+ city MPG, just thought mine was extremely low. I usually drive like a grandpa, and I let her go once in a while. Let me know what you guys think.

That sounds about right with pure stop and go.

I bet your car barely has a chance to warm up before your trip is over. Before a car is warmed up it's running very rich, then toss in the stop-n-go and it's a MPG disaster. That kind of driving is great for a hybrid or electric and not so much for an 8cyl big sedan if you want MPG.

MPG on my car has always been stellar. Average mileage per the car's mpg display is 21.4 - not re-set in years. Recent 1200 mile road trip back and forth on I-10 produced 27 mpg tank averages at 70mph average using 91 octane. In city driving with 30mph speed limits everywhere, we get 17-18 mpg.
