Just got a new car and when looking around the trunk I found that whoever last upgraded the navigation DVD did not put the player back in place properly.
The instructions say to just lower the player back down and secure, but the player seems jammed up. I can't push it down into position. Shouldn't the player just lift and lower? What am I missing here? The bolts that hold the player down are missing as well so obviously the previous guy had trouble.
The navigation unit is, as you already mentioned, held down with 2 bolts on the front, and is hinged on the back. I suspect that something (possibly the mounting bolts) has fallen under the unit, thus preventing it to seat properly.
Alternatively, you can remove the unit for a more thorough examination following instructions below...

So this damage boiled down to laziness. The guy didn't want to remove the trim pieces in the trunk so didn't have room to lift the player without torquing it and destroying the glide.
