It sounds like you can't "feel" the weight of the car lugging the truck motor. That could be very exhausting. Piece of cake!

I do need cake. Some german chocolate would be lovely right now.

Thanks be to God I made it safe and sound. Staying in a hotel tonight and moving in tomorrow.

The route I took was 85 to near Charlotte and then 77 to 81 to the turnpike and then highway 1. The mountains were lovely once the sun came up. Not much construction but a bit of rain.

I did not set any records at all. Between my pace and stopping 3 times for naps plus food and fuel it was about 17 hours to get here. I was in no hurry nor would the truck let me hurry. Having the rest of the today and tonight to rest and be fresh for moving in tomorrow is worth it. It's a strange new land in these parts. Going to take some getting used to.

Glad to hear you made it safely. And I see you changed your CL Location already - Princeton, NJ is now home!

Only would a member of CL show a pic of his car on a TRAILER being towed, and also post on the fly, and attempt to show a pic from the sideview mirror! LMAO! I love the dedication!

It's fun... Who else enjoys stuff like this except us dedicated Lexus fans. I did not post while I was driving. I'm not that crazy.

Speaking of EZ Pass, I wonder if I made a mistake... I got the ticket when I first entered the turnpike and purchased the pass at one of the service plaza's. I gave them my ticket when I got the pass. I used it in the truck when I exited the turnpike but its not showing in my account as any deduction. It also says the pass is not intended for vehicles over 7,000 lbs. It did give me the green OK light when I was going through. Hmm maybe I should call them tomorrow to make sure I don't get a ticket.

OH MAN. This is going to take a while for you to assimilate to the local natives, I see.

It's good you already bought the EZPass, although the EZPass isn't intended for when you're TOWING anything. In other words, you merely register the LS onto the EZPass account. if you're ever towing anything (or you have more than the axles that you registered to the EZPass account), you're not supposed to use it because it won't automatically deduct the proper toll.

You might get a violation in the mail because they have magnetic sensors in the pavement at the tolls in addition to cameras. If the sensors pickup anything other than what you have registered to the EZpass, the owner of the EZpass usually gets a ticket in the mail. lol.

It's not really a common thing to be towing something, and sign up for an EZpass transponder at the same time. That's why the person probably didn't ask you if you're driving the car NOW, or if you're driving a 85k pound u-haul + car trailer. LOL!

This one might take a while to catch back up to you because: it's a rental agency's trailer licence plate that was captured on the camera, and also the fact that you have a new address! LOL

Man....you'll probably receive your violation in like, 2 years.

Don't worry. Your (property) taxes and car insurance will make you forget about everyyyyything else in the world. Although, if you're renting you really don't directly pay property taxes.

I'll just call them tomorrow and give them the license plate of the trailer and see if they can deduct it from my account. You would be surprised how far southern hospitality can go. I would rather do this then eventually get a ticket. I should of thought about this when I purchased the device. Everything is registered to my LS now.

I should remove my license plate cover / shield too. I don't think it's technically legal. Although cops in GA never gave me a second look we did not have to deal with any toll's there. Camera's and radar / laser don't like it too much. I believe NJ does not allow front tint as well. Another thing to remove.

Now that you're in the metro area, there should be lots of great ethnic foods available. Including German chocolate cake!

If you do pay the tolls be sure to keep records. The rental agency may still get billed and charge it to your card months from now.
