New 2003 Fuel cap and P0430 code.
Hi guys,
Just picked up a 2003 LS430 with 180kms or 111,000 miles on it.
When I first looked at it the check engine and and vsc light were on, I know the vsc comes on when the check engine does. So I got a scanner went back scanned it and got code P0430, which is a exhaust/cat. Also got an incorrect fuel message. I asked the previous owner if he had premium in it he said yep. So anyhow I knocked him down a bit on price and bought it, as I could not hear any leaks, and it was just to clean for a Canadian winter driven car to pass up.
So after I got it home I threw it up on some stands, to swap out the wheels, crawled underneath still couldn't hear anything. Before that I removed and re tightened the fuel cap, set the car down and fired it up, no check engine light and vsc good. Could it have been just a loose fuel cap, or should I still run it over to a muffler shop to check for leak or crack?
Thanks for any replies.

It maybe be the gas cap. Could also be a leak near the o2 sensor in the rear. I can't remember passenger or driver side. The exhaust pipe may have a hole/leak hidden by the shield covering over the y pipe.
