I've noticed that the rubber boot surrounding the shift lever where it penetrates the floor of the car is torn. I'm wondering if any noise is being transmitted through to the cabin due to this torn boot, so I am thinking about replacing it. Does anyone have experience replacing this part? Can it be done easily from under the car or do I have to remove the shift lever and everything from the inside? It is part number 33555 in the diagram.
