I hope this information is helpful to you, however I note that you already have Gen 4, not Gen 2/3, so there is no Nav upgrade available to you in your 2004.
Tom, appreciate your thourough explanation. I wasn't clear on what gen mine was vs. others. I also misread a few things- namely an earlier post said 2012 DISK not a 2012 Nav unit out of a Prius- which obviously added much confusion, and looking at your signature assuming your 2006 replaced your 2001, when in actuality you OWN BOTH and thus replaced the older models' Nav unit.

Originally, I somehow thought you replaced the 2006 unit with a much newer unit from a Prius which I thought (and still correctly understand) cannot be done.

Re-Reading the thread topic probably would have helped alievate my earlier confusion...I'm clearly an idiot in need of more caffiene...

The link no longer seems to be working. Does anyone happen to have this that they can upload here, or can someone walk through this (maybe even with pictures?) here?

Thanks Tom!

Ordered an update disc and also have to disable the Lexus Link, so I wanted to prep for doing all of this at the same time, since I'll be fiddling around in the trunk.

Here's the Lexus Link disconnect instructions. See particularly pages 7 - 8 of the pdf (or 26 - 27 at bottom of the pages).

Wnyjazz, per your request, here's a pic of the 2001 Nav player unit showing the harness connection locations.
