Default Sound system confusion

I admit it. I am confused.

I have a 2003 LS430 with a standard sound system. I would like to have an XM connection but am unclear if that is possible.

Can anyone tell me if the standard system can be modified to deliver that?

Thanks much.

Is it the same unit as this one? There is an input selector that shares the AM button, long press for SAT.

I have to go look at that again. I don't think my AM button has the SAT feature..

Thanks!

Your 2003 non-nav radio should not have a "sat" button. The feature became available in mid-2004. That said, it is possible to add sat radio with a kit from Vais Technology. Others such as Grom, I-simple or others make kits but I am not sure if they fit in an '03. Try your local stereo shop or post an inquiry on this forum and I am sure you will hear from those who put sat radio in their '01 to '03 LS.

Thanks very much. I will check out the Vais Option.

@brucelee1. Here is what I put in my 2002 LS430. I don't channel surf so having a display on my HU wasn't an issue. I ran CAT6 cable from the antenna in the trunk to the glove box.(There may be an easier antenna connection in the front but I didn't see it.)
