I have an 04LS430 sport and an 08 LS460. No problems with either car the 460 is used for work and 430 for commuting and everyday driving.
460 is more up to date with styling but I feel like to 430 is better built with a more solid ride.

Both are nice it really comes down to newer look and 8 speed tranny.

I would suggest the 460 based solely on the clients. I'm sure minor issues don't bother you at all, but the last thing you need is for something to go wrong with clients in the car. I'm not saying anything will, but mechanical things break, sometimes minor, and other times major and getting a newer car with a lot less miles might not be a bad thing. If you think you will only get 5k for your 430, you can always just keep it as your DD and the 460 can be used when you have clients.

you had me at the word "payments". My advice would be not to buy anything until you have saved enough to pay cash for the replacement car. Making payments on anything that rapidly depreciates in value (like a car) is a bad plan and leads directly to lack of wealth and perpetual wage-slave servitude. Only mitigating risk is big repair bill if something fails on the old car while you are saving up - so save as fast as possible : )

Thanks for the feedback.
Payments are just to take advantage of the 1.9% offer for CPO.
I did take the plunge. Picked up a 08 LS 460L
here is the link.

http://www.lexusofatlanticcity.com/V...-NJ/2234087913

got her for 24.8k tax included (6%) with my trade.
02 ls430 ul... 225k miles with check engine and vsc lights.
Clean car but needed work.
Gonna miss her but it was time.

Nice pick up. That is a great rate for a pre-owned vehicle.

Sounds like it was time to hit reset anyways... looks great. I'm sure you are going to feel better driving clients around.

What type of work do you do? Cause that's a hell of an allowance ^_^

Have you looked at any LS600HL? That would probably be better if your spending a lot of time on the road.

Very nice looking LS460!. As a former LS430 owner please come back and post your overall evaluation and comparison between the two cars in a month or so. Would be very much appreciated. Hope you enjoy your LS460 in good health and safety!

Will do. I must say that after I cleaned up my 430 (even refreshed the ecru leather) it was even harder to trade her in. Over 110,000 trouble free miles. I almost shed a tear. I am sure the new owner will appreciate her as I much as I did.

I would be interested in hearing your opinion too. Does your 460L tick at idle?
