The asking price is $4000 with 165000 miles so if the transmission doesn’t need replacing it would be a good deal. Am I right thinking around $3000 for replacement used tranny.

IKR? Well, at $900 the OP could have replaced the tranny 3 times and still save $100 over a dealer reman. I recently replaced the diff on mine for $300 vs the ridiculous dealer price. But I'm in Miami where dealers are dicks. (yes everywhere else they are good, honest people. )
