I wonder what he thinks of my car.
He probably has terry cloth covers! LOL

Don't knock the cloth seats. The cloth seats in the 1990 LS400 I drove from new until 2003 were wonderfully comfortable in summer and winter and one of the reasons I bought the car which also had the rare retractable back window shade option. Those cloth seats were like new when I sold the 90 LS at 13 1/2 years - something I cannot say for the leather seats in my 2000 LS400 which is now almost 13 1/2 years old.

In 1990-1991, a U.S. specification LS400 could be ordered with cloth seats and all other options with the possible exception of air suspension.

Thanks for posting. I like seeing stuff like this. Doesn't look as good as the leather, but it does look comfortable.

Yes, these Japanese "mouse fur" (or moquette) pile fabrics are very, very hard-wearing. Especially in darker colors they can look almost as new even after 3-400.000 miles.

Synthetic material almost always lasts longer than natural ...

The Lexus cloth interiors are not like typical cloth interiors in a Camry or Corolla. They are very plush and feel almost like suede. I've seen them in SC300s and GS300s.

My friend has an early year LS400 with the cloth seats and they still look brand new. I'd love to have them in my SC300 over the crappy leather that's in there now.

The cloth seats seam to last so much longer than the leather does, especially compared to the early 90's Lexus'.

Looking uglier, longer is not a virtue! Like loving constant pain!

And here cloth seats from a facelift version grade "C" with air suspension.

As appears, in Japan the NAV option was not bundled with the ML sound system.

Further, seat heating did not come standard (or it may not have been available with cloth seats).

Just kinda strange to see all that wood, then with cloth seats lol.

Anyone else notice the gauges are switched around? I thought it looked funny so I went and did a double take down in the garage; the tach and speedo are reversed, along with the tach and temp gauge.
